 Students In Grades 9-12 At Grace Christian Academy Are Required To Pass At Least Three Courses Of Math And Science.  Classes Meet For 45-55 Minutes Per Day.  There Are Three Science Teachers And One Math Teacher Covering 6 Math Subjects And 7 Science Subjects For About 65 College Bound High School Students.  We Are Searching For A Teacher For AP Biology, AP Physics, Algebra 1 And Geometry.  Class Size Is Typically Under 12 Students.  The AP Courses Typically Have Fewer Than 5 Students And Have An Additional 55 Minute Lab Each Week.  Geometry Is The Only Required Course On This List And Is The Largest Component Of The Daily Schedule.  Classes Are Conducted Only In English.  The Curriculum Currently Used Is As Follows.

AP Physics-Physics For Scientists And Engineers, Serway Jewett, Tenth Ed., 2014, AP Approved Curriculum, Labs, Syllabi.  This Will Be The First Time The Class Is Offered As In-person Learning.  The Class Has Been Offered Online With Our Teacher Serving As Reference And Test Proctor.  After Successful Completion Of Our High School Physics Course, Four Grade 12 Students Have Requested An In-person Class.  These Students Are Considering Advanced Physics As A Part Of Their University And Career Goals.

French

High School Students At Grace Christian Academy Must Complete A Minimum Of Two Years Of Study In A Language Other Than English.  There Are Currently Three Options For Our Students: Mandarin, Spanish And French.  Only Four Students Have Requested French Studies.  We Suspect That There Is Currently A Lag Of Interest Because The Class Has Been Taught By A Part Time Teacher, Who Has Not Had Opportunities To Interact With The High School Students, Outside Of Her Very Small Classes.  If Someone Is Interested In A Full-time Position, Which We Prefer, Such A Fulltime Schedule Can Be Created With A Combination Of Subjects.  Recent Contributions From Full Time, "specials" Teachers, Have Been Determined By The Expertise Of Each And Include Classes In Bible, P.E., Music, Art, Math, And Language Arts.

The Teaching Schedule Includes Two Daily Classes For Each Grade Level.  Class Size Is Rarely More Than 12 Students: Sometimes As Small As 5 Students Per Class.  Enrollment For August 2022 Is Not Expected To Exceed 65 Middle School Students.  The Students Are Divided By Grade Level And Within That Group, Subdivided According To Reading Levels.  There Are Two Class Per Grade Level; Students In One Of The Classes Have A Greater English Language Proficiency As The Other Class, However, The Same Materials And The Same Syllabi Are Used For Both Classes.  The Students Are Separated By Reading Levels So As To Facilitate The Adjustment Of Teaching Strategies For Fluent And Non-fluent English Speakers.  Other Duties Include Sharing Supervision Of Study Halls, Lunch, And Detention With The Other Middle School Teachers, As Well As Standard Meetings And Parent Contacts.
