1. Tiger Leaping Gorge, Yunnan
There is a list of points of hiking and climbing in China would be complete without a mention of Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan . The story behind the same name of the valley is part of the legend. The story goes that a hunter was chasing a tiger by the valley when the cat was terrified caught between a rock and water. To escape the hunter, the brave beast leaped across the 24 meter wide gap in the throat. If the story is false, true or exaggerated, the gap is now the point of view more in this iconic heritage of humanity.
While hikers are certainly encouraged to try to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Tiger wholeheartedly recommend you take the time to hike in what is simply some of the landscapes more spectacular in the world. the entire route stretches for 22 kilometers, with a wide variety of wildlife, waterfalls, and viewing points from which to get the perfect snapshot of throat. There are also plenty of shorter routes for those with less resistance and guest houses along the way for those who want to divide the adventure on two or more days.
In fact, Yunnan Province has an embarrassment of world-class hiking and climbing sites. If you find yourself with more time on your trip or looking to return in the future, you should also check out Yuhu in Lijiang, Yubeng in Shangriila and Gejia in Honghe.

2. Yangshuo, Guangxi
Guilin may be the most famous tourist attraction in Guangxi, but when it comes to serious escalation, the knowledge of the herd to his neighbor a little less known, Yangshuo County.
Yangshuo is dubbed by many as the climbing capital of China, and it is not hard to see why. There are a lot of points between the tooth-like hills for climbers of all levels to conquer
For starters, there is the Swiss cheese, so called because of its Studded hole surface, and -. The perfect accompaniment - a bottle of wine, which resembles a bottle of the good stuff. Yangshuo also offers the toughest climbs, including the White Mountain, which is 200 meters long and 60 meters high, represents a huge challenge for more experienced climbers. Meanwhile, Moon Hill an iconic arch overlooking the lush green countryside, offers the best views.
Yangshuo is also an access point with a backpack, with a lively nightlife more akin to Southeast Asia mainland. So book a weekend in Yangshuo and convince yourself that you are living in Thailand.

3. Leshan, Sichuan
Even in a country with many famous statues of Buddha, Leshan stands out with its iconic giant Buddha. A world heritage, the Buddha of Leshan is a statue of 71 meters high the great man, carved into a sandstone cliff red face overlooking the confluence of the Dadu and Min. Finished rivers in 803, is the largest and tallest stone Buddha in the world. People across China and further make the pilgrimage to glimpse the great Maitreya.
If you get to visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, they are so nice, if not particularly difficult, hiking trails surrounding it. Zigzag track visitors lead up and down the cliff, while the red soil of the surrounding mountains offers one unique backdrop for those important souvenir photos.

4. Baiyun Mountain, Guangdong
China has countless distant mountain ranges impressive, but, understandably, many of us simply do not have the time to visit the most remote locations. Fortunately, there are some pretty decent options at or near the major cities.
Guangzhou, a metropolis of more than 13 million people scattered to 7,400 square kilometers, is home to Baiyun Mountain. Also known as the white cloud mountain and informally as the "lungs of the city" Baiyun Mountain is a local favorite hiking spot. Between 28 square kilometers and 30 peaks, Moxing Ridge is the must-see spot, standing at 382 meters and offers amazing views of Guangzhou and the Pearl River below.
This is the perfect place to visit, too, as the local government just opened a new bond Baiyun Mountain Park with neighboring moment Yuexiu Park. Now hikers can also leave Yuexiu Park statue famous five rams and Zhenhai Tower when the Baiyun Mountain is rotated.

5. Nalati grassland, Xinjiang
From a mountain in the middle of a megalopolis in southern China to open subalpine meadows in the far west of the country. It is here is the Nalati grasslands in the province of Xinjiang.
Because of its high altitude and steep climbs, meadows affectionately referred to by locals as the "Heaven of the meadow." Here, hikers are often accompanied by flocks of sheep, cows and horses wandering through the grass and wildflowers. The best time to visit is from June to September, when the flowers are in bloom and the lambs and calves are born.
While other places on this list will undoubtedly provide more accessible increases, few can boast the unique beauty of the meadow Nalati. It can be a long journey, but it will not disappoint.

6. Liupanshui, Guizhou
Liupanshui area of Guizhou is one of the places China emblematic climbing. Even if you have never heard about him, what you have seen pictures of the beautiful green mountains that is home to the highest bridge of the world. Sitting 565 meters above Beipan River, the bridge connects Quijing Duge and Liupanshui and looks like a massive version of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
Liupanshui is also known for offering rock climbing, which are best demonstrated by a local celebrity who has become known as "Spider Woman". Part of a group of climbers who entertain visitors to the nearby Getu river, Luo Dengping performs acrobatics rock climbing with his bare hands and without safety equipment. During a show half, Luo free solo climbing up and down a cliff of 100 meters in just 20 minutes. You do not have to do so quickly or dangerously, but why not book a trip to Liupanshui and channel your inner comic book character?
