I boarded a G-class train in Beijing to begin my trip to Shanghai. I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I sat down and the train began to move. The train's highest speed was 300 km/h as it raced across the huge landscape. The view outside my window altered right before my eyes, and I watched in awe.
I began my tour by passing via Guilin, a lush and mountainous region. The train followed the Li River's twisting twists, providing spectacular vistas of the area's famed karst scenery. We were able to pause and take in the landscape because of how quickly we were covering such a large distance, which astounded me.
We then traveled to Xian, an ancient city famous for its Terracotta Warriors. I was able to add seeing them in person because of the train trip, which was something I had always wanted to do. I spotted the warriors while still having time to glance around the city because the train was moving so quickly.
Finally, we reached my final destination: Shanghai. The train ride had been so smooth and enjoyable that I hardly noticed the time passing. I was rested and eager to explore when I got to Shanghai. The amount of China I had seen in such a short amount of time as well as how distinct each location was astounded me.
I couldn't recommend the high-speed train experience enough. It provides unmatched access to some of China's most breathtaking and diverse landscapes in addition to being a convenient and pleasant mode of transportation. If you ever get the chance to take a high-speed train adventure in China, don't hesitate to grab it, because it is an experience that you'll never forget.
