Sichuan hot pot is a style of Chinese cuisine original from Sichuan province in southeastern China and famous for its hot and spicy taste made with Sichuan peppercorn, and local pepper. 

Where to find authentic Sichuan Hot Pot

Sichuan hot pot is popular all over China especially among Sichuanese and as its unique spicy flavor, eating Sichuan hot pot is an important part of visiting. Local ingredients such as local pepper, dry spices, vinegar,  black pepper, coriander and hot pepper are used to make the spicy taste different and unique.

1: LaoMaTou Hot Pot restaurant

LaoMaTou Hot Pot restaurant is located in Wuhou district, Yulin Zhong Lu. You can easily find this restaurant because the gate of the restaurant is large and is decorated in traditional red colours. Inside the restaurant the atmosphere can feel a little cramped, especially on weekends. You can order spicy or half spicy or a combination with spicy and non-spicy. The menu will list many kinds of food, and you can choose any of them you like. It will cost around 75rmb per head. If you would like to experience authentic Sichuan hot pot, LaoMaTou Hot Pot restaurant is probably a must-visit restaurant. 

2: ShuJiuXiang Hot Hot restaurant 

 ShuJiuXiang Hot Pot restaurant attracts many people everyday; usually people need to wait for half an hour, sometimes even one hour for a table. The restaurant is well known for its condiments. They provide many different kinds of condiments and you can mix these with your hotpot to experience the unique taste. The soups are delicious as well. 80Rmb is the average cost per head. The restaurant is located at No.160, HuanLuXi, Qingyang district, Chengdu. 

3: Chenghuang LaoMa Hot Pot Restaurant

As a hotpot restaurant in Chengdu, HuangchengLaoma is among the most expensive hotpot restaurants. This restaurant is good for a business treat thanks to its pristine environment and location in Wuhou district with convenient transport. 

How to eat Hot Pot

If you want to taste fresh hot pot, you need to know the right way to eat it.  Many people order many foods and put all of the food together into the pot or put vegetables in when they begin eating. The right way to enjoy the food is meat first, seafood and vegetable after, and the final is noodles. Eat the food immediately after it is cooked.
