One of the most famous places to visit, everyone knows is The Great Wall. There is a Chinese proverb: “A man is not a real man if he has never been to the Great Wall”. It is one of the world wonders and largest man-made structure. In addition the picturesque Summer Palace is a classic work of the imperial garden. The Forbidden City is the most splendid architectural complex of imperial palaces in the world. The Temple of Heaven is the place of worship for emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties as well as a masterpiece of ancient Chinese architectural art. Besides the ancient building, you can go to visit the modern Bird’s Nest and Water Cube as well. They are a modern symbol of China. 

From the north to the south, you can visit an ancient town in Wuzhen and Xitang (very near Shanghai); West Lake in Hangzhou; Gulangyu Island in Xiamen; picturesque Lijiang in Guilin. From east to west, you can enjoy the skyline in Shanghai; the ancient city of Phoenix in Hunan province; Jiuzhaigou and Panda town in Sichuan province; with unique local culture in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan; the natural beautiful scenery in Tibet.

The sea is the foundation of life. Many teachers spend their time on the beaches during their holidays when teaching English in China. You can do many different activities on the beaches. For example, sunbathing; walking on the sand; lying on a chair to read a book and play on the beach; swimming; surfing and playing volleyball. Life should be like that and China can give you the life you’ve imagined. Amazing beaches in China include Baicheng beach in Xiamen; Dapeng Island and West Coast in Shenzhen; beaches in Sanya and Dongao Island in Zhuhai. Many beautiful beaches you can go traveling to.

To those who like to know more about Chinese ancient culture should travel to Xi’an. Xi'an (ancient name Chang’an), with its history as a capital encompassing 13 dynasties, offers many historical monuments and tombs around the city. Many interesting places you can visit, such as: the terracotta Warriors; The Big Wild Goose Pagoda and first Emperor Tomb.

1: When you go to other cities for traveling during your holidays keep in mind: do in Rome as the Romans do, don’t offend others and respect their culture.  

2: Learn some useful Chinese, xie xie (Thank you), Duo Shao Qian (How Much) and your numbers are essential.

3: Learn to travel on a budget and don’t buy things you don’t really need.

4: Travel by trains, bus or cheap flights (usually you need to book it 1 month before you go)  

5: Eat local food

6: Make a plan before you go

7: Search the information about the city you’re going to visit: climate, weather, food and public transport and so on.
